Green Screen Photo Booth – Ottawa Event Photographer

Looking for something fun for your next Corporate Event or Trade Show? A Green Screen Booth can add some fun and interaction with you and your product.

Here is a little sample from a Green Screen Booth with Freedom Harley Davidson of Ottawa. This particular set up was at the Business Achievement Awards Gala in December, we have also had a booth at the 40 Under 40 Gala, The Harley Davidson Precious Metal Gala and the Special Olympics Breakfast. We bring the screen, lighting setup, and printing accessories and you provide the prop. In this case Freedom Harley Davidson brought one of their amazing Motorcycles and lets you actually sit on it to get a feel of the bike.

You leave with a 4×6 of you on the bike, dreaming or planning of the day you will have one of your own.It is always lots of fun and representatives from Freedom Harley Davidson are always on hand to answer questions about their bikes.

The next event we will be attending is the FAB Women Gala on Monday, February 6th in support of Hopewell. If you haven’t got your ticket be sure to pick yours up, there are a few left. And while you are there, enjoy the Fashion Show and participate in the Live Auction to raise money for Hopewell. Be sure to stop by our photo booth and get your photo taken on a Harley.

Author Brenda Ponnay – Orange County California

The New Year has started off with an amazing opportunity to photograph Author Brenda Ponnay in California. Brenda is a Mom, graphic Artist, Children’s Book Author and owner of the blog Secret Agent Josephine among other amazing talents. I was first introduced to Brenda through her blog almost seven years ago and was able to meet her in person on a family trip to Disneyland two years ago. Since then, we have met up on both sides of the US several times and always have a great time when we are together. When Brenda mentioned in passing that she needed some promo shots done for her Children’s Books, I was quite quick to see if I could fit it into my schedule. Never one to pass up on an opportunity to head to California or to take photos of such a gorgeous subject, I packed my cameras and my suitcase and was off.

We had wonderful warm, January weather for our shoots, which took us from Palm Springs to the Orange Groves of the California Desert, to Newport Beach in Orange County. The sun was warm and the light was gorgeous and the model, so easy to work with.

Palm Springs in the afternoon, the architecture is amazing, the colours so vibrant.

Citrus groves, like I have never seen before. Since I live in Canada’s Capital it is pretty safe to say that I don’t get the opportunity to shoot in a Citrus grove very often. I just couldn’t pass up on the chance to do it. It amazes me how almost everyone has an orange tree or a lemon tree it is no wonder that Californians are so healthy!

Brenda is also known as Secret Agent Josephine and her Children’s Books are based on the character Brenda created. In Newport Beach there is a restaurant with a mini-Eiffel Tower so we couldn’t pass up the chance to use it in our shoot. I look forward to another time when perhaps I can follow Brenda to Paris and capture her in front of the real thing.

Thank you to Brenda for such an amazing opportunity. I enjoyed my trip tremendously and only wish we were closer in geography so that we could work together more. I am already looking forward to the next time we do get to work together.

B Family Summer Edition – Ottawa Family Photographer

I am pleased to introduce you to the B Family. This is the third of our four sessions we had from our ‘Year in the Life’ photo sessions. We chose to do one for each season starting last Christmas. This was our summer session. We made sure we had a little bit of time at the house and then some time outside as the conservation area near their home. The children have been so wonderful over this past year and it is amazing to see how much they have grown. We always make sure we have some of our serious shots, but we certainly get in some silly times as well.

A huge thank you goes out to Mom and Dad as well as the children, for making this past year so much fun. We had a few wardrobe and location changes but all in all it was just a whole bunch of fun.

D Family – Ottawa Family Photographer

Please say hello to the D Family. Another fabulous family from August. We decided to meet for an early evening shoot since the weekends were busy for everyone. We had grand ideas of walking the trail getting some great shots on a leisurely stroll. We forgot one really important thing about early evenings in August. Blackflies. As we started out on our walk they weren’t too bad, but the further into the trail we got the worse they seemed to be. The children were troopers, laughing them off and I am pretty sure I had my share swarming around me. We still had a great time, but not quite as leisurely as we had hoped.

Such a pleasure to meet you all this past summer, thank you for allowing me to capture your amazing family.

P Family – Ottawa Family Photographer

With the holidays upon us, I feel like I can play a little catch up and share some of my fabulous family photos from the second half of 2011. This particular family shoot was in August and despite the hot temperatures we had been having, this may have been the one and only morning in August that we had a little bit of rain. Not enough to slow us down or cancel the shoot, but enough that we didn’t roll around on the grass for our session.

We got together on a weekday morning during the family holidays at the Arboretum. As is sometimes typical we had one outgoing little girl ready with all her smiles and one shy little girl that made me work for each and every smile we got out of her, but oh they are both so gorgeous.
