The Power of Movement – Ottawa Event Photography

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

Sunday, I had the great pleasure to photograph The Power of Movement here in Ottawa. A large group yoga class that is a fundraiser for Arthritis & Autoimmune conditions. We had almost 150 participants out to the venue and Yoga instructor Jessica Keats led the group through an amazing workout (am I allowed to call it that?). Participants ranged from young children, to older Moms, and a few Gentlemen participated as well. Thank you to all the Ladies from Yoga Fit Canada who watched over everyone making sure that all were in prime form.

Congratulations to everyone who participated and raised money for such a wonderful cause. The fundraiser was well thought out and prepared by the Organizer Chick Manuela McLaughlin. She did a fabulous job filling the room and getting everyone in and set up on time. And thank you to Manuela and her team for such a wonderful job. I look forward to an even bigger event next year!

Party Photobooth – Ottawa Event Photography

Monday, March 5th, 2012

Event Photography is one of my favorites, not only because I get to capture people as they are but because I get to capture people being sometimes, a little silly. Something I started offering last year for events was a Photobooth. It all started with my Green Screen Booth and continues to grow from there, with fun holiday parties, or fabulous birthdays. Young or old, everyone enjoys a good photobooth.

A photobooth can be tucked into a corner and people can come and go as they wish. I offer a series of different background and bring a bag or two of props with me. We can accomodate any theme given enough time to round things up.

So at your next event, put your best face forward and bring a photobooth, guests always have fun and you will be surprised how much they talk about your party after by sharing the photos from the booth.

Green Screen Photo Booth – Ottawa Event Photographer

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

Looking for something fun for your next Corporate Event or Trade Show? A Green Screen Booth can add some fun and interaction with you and your product.

Here is a little sample from a Green Screen Booth with Freedom Harley Davidson of Ottawa. This particular set up was at the Business Achievement Awards Gala in December, we have also had a booth at the 40 Under 40 Gala, The Harley Davidson Precious Metal Gala and the Special Olympics Breakfast.  We bring the screen, lighting setup, and printing accessories and you provide the prop. In this case Freedom Harley Davidson brought one of their amazing Motorcycles and lets you actually sit on it to get a feel of the bike.

You leave with a 4×6 of you on the bike, dreaming or planning of the day you will have one of your own.It is always lots of fun and representatives from Freedom Harley Davidson are always on hand to answer questions about their bikes.

The next event we will be attending is the FAB Women Gala on Monday, February 6th in support of Hopewell. If you haven’t got your ticket be sure to pick yours up, there are a few left. And while you are there, enjoy the Fashion Show and participate in the Live Auction to raise money for Hopewell.  Be sure to stop by our photo booth and get your photo taken on a Harley.

AURP Event with Governor General David Johnston – Ottawa Event Photographer

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

To say what an honor feels like such an understatement, but honestly and truly I was so honored to be asked to photograph the AURP (Association of University Research Parks) Event last week, held at the Parliamentary Dining Room with guest of honor Governor General David Johnston. Not only is it a privilege to be able to photograph the Governor General, but to be allowed into Parliament to do so, made for an even more amazing night.

His Excellency the Right Honorable David Johnston is Canada’s 28th Governor General of Canada and has held that position since October of 2011. He is our representative to Queen Elizabeth II. What an amazing Gentleman, I couldn’t be prouder to say he is our Governor General.

A Rare opportunity to photograph the Parliamentary Dining Room empty. Once the MP’s come in for dinner no photographs are allowed. We were in a separate room, just off the main hallway.

Such a wonderful evening, thanks again to Carol Stewart and the AURP for allowing me this wonderful opportunity.

Amplify Her Awesome – Ottawa Event Photographer

Monday, October 24th, 2011

Last Tuesday, October 18th Tina Yelle, founder of Fuchsia Factory hosted her first one day conference called Amplify Her Awesome at My Condo, on the Byward Market. Tina did a fabulous job putting together great speakers to share their awesome with everyone.

From the website:

Amplify Her Awesome™ Live is an energizing, jam-packed day in Ottawa where local women entrepreneurs can learn, share, create and grow in many different areas of their business. A place to get a pulse on what’s hot and what’s not in the here and now.

And what a fabulous and energetic day it was, just reading the comments on the Facebook page about how pumped up everyone was about their businesses after spending a day with all these wonderful women.

Here is just a sampling from the day. To view more photos please visit my Facebook page to view the Amplify Her Awesome album.
