First Look at The Barn – Stittsville Family Photographer

I am so excited to share some images from a session I had a The Barn last weekend. The M Family is an amazing family and I feel honored to be asked to capture their amazing smiles and beauty. I think that next to photographing family, photographing some of your closest friends is one of the hardest things to do. Mrs M and I are quite good friends and travel partners so when I was asked to capture their family, I was not only honored but I had a short case of the nerves. Once they arrived at The Barn, all those nerves went away and we had a great time. Children are drawn to The Barn despite the fact that it never housed animals, it was used as a Grist Mill. There is just something about being in a building that is over 200 years old.

Thank you again to the M Family, for being such fabulous subjects and allowing me to capture how amazing you all are.

Fall Mini Sessions – The Barn, Stittsville

Fall is in the Air and it is time to start thinking about Holiday Cards and Family Portraits. I am holding one day of Mini Sessions on Sunday, October 14th at an exclusive location called The Barn in Stittsville. The Barn is rustic and unique and offers an amazing natural location with the option of both inside and outside portraits. Mini Sessions are 30 minutes in length and we ask that you arrive ten minutes before your session to ensure that the day runs smoothly. The Barn is truly a barn, there is no electricity nor washroom facilities, but it also does not house animals and used exclusively for photography sessions. Look forward to seeing you at The Barn!

Details:

Session fees are due at time of booking in order to secure your spot. Once you have booked and paid, a session time will be assigned to you, any requests for times will be considered, but cannot be guaranteed as it is fist come first served. There are no refunds once the session fee has been paid.

Mini Session Fee Only* $100 (for a savings of $125)
This fee covers your session only. All Prints or Digital Images may be purchased at full price À la Carte, through your gallery, which will be available within one week of the session.
* Please note: there is a minimum print order of $200

We are offering two options that you can purchase in addition to your Mini Session Fee that offer a substantial savings from our regular prices. These options are only available to purchase prior to October 14th, they will not be offered once the Mini Session day is completed.

Option 1: Disk of Full Resolution JPEGs and 25 Holiday Cards** $250 (for a savings of $525)
This option includes a Full Resolution Disk of JPEGs from your session ready to print at your leisure and a package of 25 professionally printed custom Holiday Cards.
** Samples of Holiday Cards will be on hand on October 14th to choose from.

Option 2: Disk of Full Resolution JPEGs, a 5×7 print of each image and 50 Holiday Cards $300 (for a savings of $1225)
This option includes a Full Resolution Disk of JPEGs from your session to print at your leisure, a 5×7 of each image and a package of 50 custom Holiday Cards professionally printed.

S Family – Rehoboth Beach Family Photographer

I was so honored to be contacted by this fabulous family to capture them for their first ever visit to my favorite beach. Rehoboth Beach is such a huge part of my life, it is my second home. When I was first contacted to capture this family, who were in town for a wedding, there was no way we would know that they were there for one of the hottest weeks on record. With the humidex the temperatures were up in the low 100F’s almost every day and there was no relief at night. The ocean was already 74F, which is usually the temperature that it reaches by late August early September. So when we met at 5pm on a Thursday, the beach was still quite crowded, not something that usually happens on that section of the beach at that time of night. Thankfully a family had just packed up and left us a little room to get some fabulous images with the ocean so blue behind us.

Mom and Dad with their four grown children, on a family vacation, at the beach. Not something that happens every year, as I am sure we all know. As we grow up and have children of our own, it gets harder and harder to do the things we did when we were younger. But, what an amazing family they were. Troopers for sure to get dressed for photos in such extreme heat.

In addition to having their children in attendance, they also had their chilrens families with them. Granddaughters were loving the sand and wishing they were in the ocean cooling off, what a treat to have their grandchildren close by!

I can’t thank you enough for choosing me to capture your gorgeous family. I am so happy you had a great time in Rehoboth, I know you visited a few of my favorite restaurants and got to enjoy my most enjoyable part, basking in the sunshine on the beautiful sand and enjoying a dip in the ocean. It was such a treat to meet you all, and I hope to see you all again on another fabulous vacation.

Mehdi Family – Ottawa Family Photography

Another Fabulous Fall Family! And four girls too! I grew up in a house with four girls, I am the second eldest so I could completely understand the dynamics with these beautiful sisters. They were so great to photograph, each and everyone unique in their own way, yet so similar too! We had another gorgeous day for our session, couldn’t have asked for better weather if we tried.

You may recognize Mom! Carolyn Mehdi, former co-director of Entrepreneurial Moms Ottawa and co-owner of Mango Silk, a company that imports gorgeous home decoration and fashions from around the world. A busy Mom with four girls she does it all with such grace and beauty. And then there is Dad! He is amazing, so loving and kind, was wonderful to see him with his girls.

Thank you to the Mehdi Family for allowing me to capture your beautiful smiles! Was so lovely to meet all of you, I enjoyed our time together immensely.

Fabulous Families – Ottawa Family Photographer

Here is another fabulous family from last Fall. We had planned this shoot, anticipating a cool but sunny day, so everyone is nicely layered up. Well, as was last Fall, it was a gorgeous and warm day. We were all a little over dressed, but the effect was lovely. We had so much fun with the boys, who were so sweet if even a little shy at first. They soon warmed up and were laughing and making jokes.

We were just seeing a few of the leaves turn, not too much but just enough to add a splash of colour. I also love to make sure we always get at least one shot of Mom and Dad alone. A lot of times this is a rare event and often I hear, “This is our first photo together since our Wedding!” I love to change that and make sure we capture everyone and set a new family trend.

Gorgeous! The boys were laughing it up and making a few faces all in the name of getting some great shots. And I do believe we accomplished that.
